I just tried these for the first time today, YUM! I loved the crispy texture and they reminded me of a mix between broccoli and cauliflower as far as taste goes. Very nice snack and I love how they fit very nicely into my induction plan

Last night I made some kale chips with coconut oil, they were even better than with olive oil. Very crispy and not as dry. I like using curly green kale for this when I can find it.

Maybe I did something wrong but I couldn't stand the aftertaste. I was hoping to have a new favorite snack.

Amanda, there are recipes on the internet which add spices and vinegar - maybe you might enjoy one of those.

If not, never fear.. I bought kale to make chips, but before I got around to it, someone on this site told me her husband likes kale stir-fried with vinegar with chili. I tried it using a splash of my Chinese black rice vinegar and a shake of chili powder. I absolutely adored it! I have never made the chips, but I am eating piles of kale - it's so tasty with the chili and vinegar that I have it for supper. The vinegar I use is great:

but wine, balsamic or another mellow vinegar would probably be good too.

Kale's seemingly an incredibly nutritious vegetable.

I think I liked it raw better than as chips. I'll look for other recipes.

BTW, they seemed to be cooked just right. Crunchy, crispy, dark green and not browned.

Oh, well. I can't like everything.

Amanda, at first I really liked kale in soup.. nothing fancy just some chicken broth with the kale and maybe some chicken.. it was good at first.. but for me,all of a sudden, I noticed the kale had this strong strong flavor, that I didn't like...I over cooked my kale in the oven, I had no idea they cooked that quick in the oven LOL....

I made these yesterday since my garden has just exploded in kale! Weird. At first I was kind of "meh" and then I just kept eating them. And I ate a lot. I put the rest in a container and just finished them off today. They don't taste great and yet I keep eating them! It must be because of the salt and light crispiness. The taste reminds me of roasted pumpkin seeds.

Don't feel bad. I didn't like them either and was quite disappointed as everyone had raved about them. Loved the texture, but the taste was not worth it.
