I find this astonishing on many levels. One is that the guy didn’t seem to know this was a bad way to do science: he outed himself in a blog post about his methods.

Another is that when another scientist pointed this out to the journal in question, the response was... no response.

And last and biggest: having results that defy replication isn’t a “problem.” It’s a clear sign there is something deeply wrong with the study or the theory or both; it’s a fire alarm and they treated it like a snooze button.

I started doing that years ago & it does help - as long as I don't go back for seconds. I also learned to make less food & to not put serving bowls & platters on the table. I plate up in the kitchen. Also learned about not shopping when hungry just by noticing what I bought when hungry vs. when I wasn't.
