Default Ketosis taste in mouth?

I caught a glimpse of a thread somewhere mentioning a taste in the mouth that some people get when they are in ketosis....anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yep, it's rather common. Ketone bodies (such as acetone) are excreted from the body in the breath and urine. Many people get "keto breath" for awhile when they start a LC diet

I always thought it kind of smelled like 'dry mouth' or (for those of us from the '70's as teens) cotton mouth. The urine is stronger smelling. That's how I always could tell I was burning the fat.

As long as I'm in ketosis I've usually got ketosis breath. Listerine Strips are a good investment.

Yup, it might lessen (or I might have gotten more used to it) but it doesnt go away.

And my kids told me to go breathe somewhere else.

Carry a toothbrush with you.

After coffee it's really bad. I don't trust Listerine strips to have nothing in them I shouldn't have... just wonder how they make them...

I gargle a bit, or eat a bit of parsley.

I've had ketosis breath since getting into ketosis.

I just swish with water often when I'm out.

Reminds me of how my mouth tastes the morning after I have drank too much Scotch.

Only twice has anyone mentioned it, the first time a friend asked me if I had eaten anything with garlic in it the night before, and then handed me a whole box of Tic Tacs..........
