Default Newbie PPer

Good morning.....
I'm new to the boards and am following Protein Power. DH and I started December 4, 2006. He has 50 lbs total to lose; I have 101 lbs total.

DH is in relatively good health but feels better eating less carbs. Me, on the other hand, high-blood pressure, pre-diabetic, traveling down the road to stroke/heart attack city.

DH has lost 27 lbs.. I have lost almost 30 lbs thus far.

I have tried LC before but thought of it as a diet and hence the weight I lost returned and then some. I understand now that I will need to eat a low to moderate carb way for the rest of my life.

It's been tough to find a place to connect with other PPers. A lot of folks are following Atkins. It's a good plan, but PP connects with us more.

Looking forwarding to good health and good conversation with all of you.

Gina

nolagina,

Hi and welcome to the board. I have been on PP Since Jan of 02 and can say it has changed my live very much for the better. You are right, once you go low-carb you have to stay low-carb or you will gain it all back and then some.

Other sources of info on PP are out there. There is a Protein Power forum here:
http://www.proteinpower.com/forum/

and Dr. Mike Eades has his own blog that always has good stuff on it.

Good Luck
