Default New Here

Hello-

I am new here, just found this board while doing a lo carb recipe search this am.

My name is Kris, married, 34, 3 kids, homeschool, run a Pet/Farm sitting business, raise llamas and mini donkeys, caretaker to invalid gma.

I have done lo carb before and ALWAYS lost, but I gain it back as soon as I go back to my old ways, my biggest challenge is to just adapt it as a LIFESTYLE and move on with my life, clear cut, simple~well yeah until I crave a donut on saturday morning! Anyway, I feel so much better when I reduce my carbs, so I know it's the right choice for me.

I tip the scales at 237, my highest ever recorded weight, aside from pregnancy. I am miserable in my skin, it's time to do something or stop bellyaching about it.

My plan of choice is just counting my carbs, eating as healthy as I can, my budget is tight and I can't afford the fancy products and don't want to cook 6 different meals a day. I don't mind salads, and veggies so I figure I'll fill up those while taking counted portions of my families 'regular' food. My goal is 180 grams a day, if I don't lose with that go down to 125 ( from info in Preventions Lo Carb the Smart Way book).

Look forward to meeting ya'll, I'll most likely make my home in the journal forum, because of my kids homeschool and my other duties, I only have PC time in early am while I have my am coffee.

Welcome Kris,

This is a great place for advice, encouragement, support and even lc recipes. If you're taking an induction route, you don't really need to spend $$ on all the lc products out there- all you need to do is keep it simple with meats, salad veggies, eggs and cheese.

Best of luck to you!
