Generally commercially made ice-cream of that type is sweetened with with fructose which is one of the many names of sugar. The answer is definitely no, unless it is sweetened with artificial sweeteners or a natural one like stevia.

Besides the fructose, commercially made ice creams also have skim milk powder, which also has lots of carbs. That's why even ice creams that actually have no sugar in any form are still too high in carbs for most of us.

And yes, it is a shame.
