I think there is an increasing problem finding doctors who care all over the world. They don't always seem interested in what matters to the patient...they know what they care about regarding your case, but that might not match up with what is bothering YOU. It is a total nightmare when you do not feel well enough to do much about it too...I mean if a person is enthusiastic and healthy they might stand a chance of hunting until they find that one in a million doctor who is really going to help, but when you are feeling dreadful, you hardly stand a chance.

Having said that...there are blessings to count. We have a forum here, with some great people willing to spend time helping each other for nothing. Doctors that do care, and have their heads screwed on do exsist, so if you are still alive, tomorrow could be the day you find one. We have a condition that can be well controlled with diet, tools and drugs. There is a lot to learn, but that because so much is already known about it. This is all a long way from hopeless.

I actually remember the days in the USA when doctors didn't charge very much and therefore patients were able to pay for their office visit at the time they were there. There was no insurance for routine health care, and there was no large "machine" of office workers (both by a HMO or government and the doctor's staff), so the overhead for the doctor was very low. One secretary/nurse was often all they had if it was a one-person practice. People gave so much money to charity, even if they didn't have much themselves, and that was the much-touted safety net that is spoken of. So, I have lived under both systems, and in my opinion, for me, I preferred the old system. More is often not better. It was very different then.

I went to Dr. Bernstein's diabetes911.net site and can't find the Hoodia ad. Either it's gone or I just can't find it.

Regardless of what he charges for a personal consultation, he gives away thousands of dollars' worth of medical information in "Diabetes Solution," which you can probably get for under $20 (USD) at Amazon.com
