Question CALORIES?!

Does anyone know if calories count on CAD/CALP?

And also: is there any direct relationship between the calories that are indicated as having been consumed on the treadmill computer and the calories we're eating...?

Thanks guys
Liv

Default Hey Liv!

I was just searching for this answer in the CALP book last night. From what I understand, cals don't matter, only that you stick tot he "3 guidelines" which are simply:

1. have a balanced reward meal every day.
2. finish reward meal in 1 hour
3. have crave-reducing meals (LC) at other times of day.

I was also wondering about fat content. A lot of the other people on this board doing atkins find that if they increase their fat, they lose more. Is that true for CALP? I would like to know, b/c I find I am so hungry at RM time, I can't help but to overeat. If I had more fat at my LC meals, I might be more satisfied.

Anyone know??

Suz

Hi guys!

I'm just posting to put this question back at the top so maybe someone will see it again...

Suzz I don't know about fat but, just for curiosity's sake, i lost more on a high calorie day than a low one ... Friday I had about 2000 and lost 1 and 1/2 pounds. I guess a lot of it was water but still .. if you're overdoing it you don't even lose that ...

Anyway, hope some answers come in anyway...

Liv

Default Hey, I can answer this one!

Hi everyone,

Here is the calorie and fat scoop.

Calories: It is good to eat 10 times your body weight in calories a day. Heller does not say this, but I find the more I eat during low carb meals the less I eat at night. I also have more energy this way. You absolutely do not have to watch how much you eat during your low carb meals. EAT.EAT.EAT! The amoung of calories is actually from the ATKINS approach, but works for us CAD's

Fat: I eat a lot of fat during the day and drink tons of water. I am losing weight better than when I ate less fat. Your body needs calories from fat in order to let go of what it is storing. If you don't eat enough you will not lose weight. Instead, you're body will act as though it is being starved and hold on to every ounce you feed it. Plus, the more you eat at your low carb meals, the less you'll want at your RM's because low carb meals reduce cravings for all of that bad stuff!

Hope this helps.
