Default Balance -- I have none (ATF Squats).

I'm noticing that when I do ATF squats (currently with no added weight, just an ultra-light bar to get used to having my hands up in that position) that I have balance problems. I want to come up on my toes, or I start to lean too far forward then over-correct, etc.

Any tips on getting used to the proper form for this exercise? I've looked at this site, but I can't quite tell if maybe I'm doing it wrong. His feet look pretty close together to me -- are they at least supposed to be shoulder width apart? Should your feet be facing straight forward, or can (should you) you turn them out a little?

Any suggestions?

When you squat make sure you are looking up at a fixed position the whole way down,.do not watch yourself in the mirror, this helps. You can also try placing 5lb plates under your heels for a bit..this will help keep your weight back.

I found that this site gave me better insight into how to get better form when doing my squats. Good luck!

One more thing I should mention: you're not going to wake up huge from weight training, so just get over your little phobia right now. Or I'll make you drop to the floor and give me fifty pushups, you simpering maggot!

Good site Dervish!
