Default "Treats" that I enjoy

I am in my tenth week of Atkins and I just wanted to share what I enjoy for treats.

Russell Stover sugar-free toffee logs coated in chocolate and crushed almonds are wonderful - I can't even express! They are my absolute favorite. Their peppermint patties rock also!

I have not had Atkins Endulge Ice cream yet - but I'm looking forward to finding it! I do like the Endulge peanut butter cups but no so much the carmel-nut chew (they taste sort of stale)

What do you enjoy for "treats"?

Well, I had posted earlier today that I had gotten the endulge vanilla ice cream this morning and I fell completely in love with it. If you have a chance to find it, try it. Highly recommended by me!
That's the only "treat" I've tried because most of the "treats" for Atkins seem to be chocolate. I can't have chocolate so it makes it very difficult to find goodies.

I love Pure De-lite Dark Chocolate bars. Although, recently, I cut out all franken-foods, including the Pure De-lites, and I broke a 5 1/2 month stall.

Frankenfood - is any sort of chemicially enhanced, or unnatural food. Bars are a perfect example...
Congrats on breaking your stall, Paradise!! You are so close to your goal!

Thanks faeriegirl! It's really more of a relief to know that my body hadn't settled into an "ideal" weight which was short of goal.

Suzanne, more examples of franken-foods are low-carb bagels, low-carb muffins, commercially-made low-carb cheesecake, etc. Basically, substitutes for the real thing.

Well, I never really thought of it, but now that you mention it - I don't lose every week and I do enjoy Atkins muffins, the sugar-free chocolate, etc. So maybe I need to cut stuff like that way back to just maybe once or twice a week. Thanks for the tip!

I just thought that since I have just 10 lbs more to go (If I feel healthy when I get there - if not I'm going to up my ideal weight) I just figured that that is why I'm not losing every week. But I"m going to give it a try.

For the past two weeks I've been at 150 - I'm DYING for the 140's! I haven't seen that in years!!

I'm in the anti-frankenfood camp.

Part of the beauty of Atkins to me is the fact that it defeats cravings - and I think those type of foods increase cravings, and also keep you in the mindset of thinking certain types/categories of food are "good".

Because I eat only the natural foods recommended, I no longer think of chocolate, for example, as a "treat", so I don't need a "fake" chocolate bar.

What I consider a treat:

Fresh strawberries with cottage cheese, or sour cream (no sweetener added)

Lisa Konzleman's protein bars (the only thing I use artificial sweetener with!)

So does franken-foods have anything to do with a frank "en" furter???

I enjoy the Low Carb chocolates also, but because of everyone telling me that they cause you to stall. I have never eaten more than 2 a week. I have never tried any of the low-carb breads haven't had the urge, which is OK with me.

I have used the Keto Crumbs for making meatloaf and fried chicken, and it works great.

I have never gotten a craving after one. When I do eat them it is in the evening after dinner. Funny thing, when I was eating low fat, I would have a low fat sweet treat every night. Now I only have them 2 times a week. Just goes to show how you don't crave sweets as much on this WOE.

Also, I keep these in my outside freezer so it is not convenient for me to just grab one and eat it.

BTW, Walmart carries all of the Atkins Endulge and the Carbolite candies for .96 and .99 ea regular price.

Wee

Default Fake Chocolate???

Since when does sugar make it "REAL Chocolate"??

I think Pure De-lite's Dark chocolate bars are the most Chocolate Chocolate bars I've ever eaten!!
Does sucralose or maltitol make it LESS chocolate??

I'm with Suzanne... Russell Stover's Butter Toffee logs are the BEST.

And believe me, the Atkins Endulge Ice Cream says "super premium ice cream" on the box... and it is!
