To quote Susan (omablue):

Thud, Thank you for starting the August thread. I am going to turn the whole operation of this group over to you. I appreciate your willingness to keep it going.

August marks 2 years since I started this journey. I lost 30 pounds in the first year. I have now kept it off for one year. The second year I lost 10 more pounds and it went right back up 10 pounds. I have made peace with the weight I am. It has been a struggle to keep it off. I think it is time for me to cut back on the amount of time I spend thinking about low carb. I know I will continue to follow this way of eating, it is absolutely necessary.

Thank You Susan! I as well continue to spend less time consumed with thinking about eating and just eating right. I'm not very concerned with what I weigh. I will hand this thread over to the next person that wants to continue it. I'll be around here for a few more months at least collecting data. It's very handing for that!

Thanks GR, you seem like a better champion of this thread then I You are very positive and supportive and demonstrating that this WOE, as it's been called, W.O.R.K.S ! No question about it.

So basically at the end of the month you'll start the thread on the evening of Aug. 31 or even before if it's convenient. I'll stick around and continue to participate and will get it started again if the timing doesn't work for you.

Thanks Thud and Susan. I appreciate all both of you have done to keep this going. I am also getting to the point where weighing daily is not as important to me. I am not totally ready to give it up yet, but if I miss a day here or there, it's okay.

I was MIA mostly the last week of the month as I had house guests and a week long skating competition. If you don't read my journal, I did very well - 4 first place medals and 1 fourth place. I will be MIA mid-month as well. Going on a 2 week trip to Sweden and Finland with my 70 yo Dad.

Still out of town so can't weigh in until August 6th but, while I have internet this morning (it's catch as catch can!), I just wanted to let y'all know that I am with you in spirit!

Thud - thanks for starting the new thread this month and Gail, thank you for agreeing to keep it going.

Susan - These monthly threads have been instrumental in helping me stay on track. THANK YOU for all that you've done to keep them going and especially for setting such a positive and supportive tone. We will miss you but totally understand the desire to stop focusing constantly on LC and start "just eating LC without thinking about it so much!" When you do happen to think about it, drop around once in a while and say hi and let us know how you're doing.

I'll be back weighing in daily starting on the 6th. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for me that I'm not doing toooo badly choosing my meals at the fast food restaurants Dad likes. <deep sigh>
