We live in inflationary times, the cost of meat has risen so much over the past few years. My lc money saving tip is buy a food\meat slicer, and instead of buying lots of expensive bacon - buy a smoked ham joint, probably about 0.4-0.6 kg in weight, slice it when raw, store and use when needed every morning. Just did it, looks like I could eat ham every day in an atkins breakfast for about 3 weeks, all for about £5....

you could also save you the expense of buying pork belly; bacon that has not been cured, yet...
prices vary from about $2.29 lb to $11/lb depending on farmer or store...
