I lost a total of 140 lbs, but I have gained 53 of them back. My thyroid went awry again, and my doctor just increased my dosage today, so hopefully, I'll begin to lose again soon.

I can't tell you how inspirational this thread is. Particularly seeing how, if I stick with it and don't cheat, I could potentially be at 170 in a year! (111 lbs off at that point).

Just the fact that it is do-able is amazing!

Congrats to everyone here! Even those just starting, because that is significant all on its own!

I second the motion. Or second the second... This thread really is inspirational. Thank you all so much for sharing! It's been rough over the holidays but I'm trying so hard to be motivated in 2008! I have a long way to go, but it's always helpful to know that its possible.

Hi!

When I first came to this forum, I kept seeing so many members who had lost 100 lbs and that gave me so much hope...it helped me stick with it when I wasn't losing. This forum and all its members, has helped me to get to my goal....and now I can stay there!!

For newbies....this is not just about going on a diet and losing weight...its about making it a lifetsyle change that is forever. Try new foods and make yourself a food plan that makes you happy and satisifed...so that you will not go back to the way we used to eat before.

Never give up!! Keep moving forward even if you eat an off plan food...dust yourself off, forgive yourself and move on.

I'm now 2 years into my maintenance and life is good!!

I am bumping this thread because I have hit the 100 pound loss mark and I know of at least one other person here that has as well! I am down 101.5 pounds now.

It's been a long road but a good one. I definitely couldn't have done it without all of the TDCers, the very first place I ever posted, my VERY supportive husband, and this GREAT WOE. I still have a small bit of weight I would like to lose to feel comfortable and I would like to tone what I have now. However, I have gone from a size 22 to a size 4/6. That's quite a bit of weight.

Good luck to everyone and keep going!!!

Sticking with it and not cheating is the key! It is truly the slippery slope that leads to packing back o 30 pounds (I did that 2 different times in my journey) then struggling to get back o track and lose the weight again. Another fun trap is the "I can modify what I eat as I know what I am doing." Take some advice, don't do that........

Happy successes to you all, and remember.......it is not if I fail, it is what will I do when I fail that is the difference maker!

Happy LC Easter!
