I'm just kind of blah and tired and I know I'm eating too many carbs. Today, I ate candy for lunch. In what universe is candy an acceptable lunch?

I am in a wagon, but it's the wrong one. This wagon doesn't have a driver, and it is rolling down a hill. I can see a big cliff ahead, yet I can't seem to muster up the energy to get out of this doomed wagon and back into the better one.

I've gained back 10+ pounds since Christmas. So far, it hasn't affected my clothing size, but it is really affecting my self esteem. And I don't want to gain back all the weight! I can see the weight, and it isn't lovely.

Maybe confessing here will help me get some mojo back! Any tips for getting back on track are more than welcome.

Dont beat yourself up, it happens to nearly everyone ...but just to let you know,, you are the wagon, its up to you where it stops.....maybe you could plan your eating for a few days and just look at it in 3 days at a time then each time you resist candy or fries etc you will get stronger and more determined..if you know there will be candy then bring some dark choc or I saw a great recipe for pureed berrys dipped in dark choc,, yum...
You can do it.

Sometimes it helps to visualize what happens if the wagon goes over the cliff.

Hi Ferry Girl--I can relate to what you are saying. I have gained about 8 pounds over the winter, and can't bring myself to post my true weight over on the maintenance thread because I feel like a train wreck. However, I like what Nancy said "visualize what happens if the wagon goes over the cliff."

For me it's a sugar problem. I'm not tempted by grains of any kind. I managed to maintain for months while eating lot of potato and blueberry carbs. But once I added sugar back into my diet, it's been all downhill (wagons pick up speed downhill!).

I also like what Aramaya said "it happens to nearly everyone." So I would like to pull myself up by the bootstraps, again, and keep trying.
