whohoooo a gym log!

ok..remember the thighs INCLUDE quads, hammies AND hip abductors...squats are absolutely fantastic for the thighs....lunges too....

do you have access to free weights rather than machines?

Hey Katzue started a Gymlog!!!
Cool beans, I just think my Gymlog was too much trouble so I asked the Moderators a while back to delete it and I am posting everything in my Journal. I see you had your LBWO, but I didn't see the Calves in there at all?
Did you just forget to post them or are you not doing them?
I love doing Calves just as much as I love doing Squats.
The last BFL Challenge I did I really was able to see the defenition in my calves and that really rocked. DH has Killer Calves (he's a runner) and they are huge. He told me soon my calves will be as big as his I told him I don't want them quite THAT big LOL.
Happy day 3 of the Challenge girl!

Yes but guys in that part of the gym scare me they are sooooo buff... And I hate doing calves because they're so defined from running on an incline with resistance that they're really really toned... Every time I do any kind of calve exercise, it puts me out of commission from doing a HIIT the next day because I have constant Charlie horses (yeeouch).

Help me with exercises though, beautiful ladies.

Default Day 5 Challenge UBWO

Boyfriend and I went to the gym last night.

I did tricep dips (on the machine) and finshed off with the tricep flyes thingies (LOL i need a gym vocab) with free weights. Next came biceps and I used free weights (up to 15 lbs at the end) to do hammer and regular curls. Next came me trying to bench press and failing, so switching to 15 pound dumbless to do chest flyes and press. I did bent over rows using 12 pound weights as well as my favorite floor move-- the superman where you use your back muslces and arms to contract your back. Finally, I did shoulders using shrugs with 20 pounds (YEOUCH) and over head presses... I was shaking so hard at the end. Next came abs on the machine that you add free weights too (up to 15 pounds woo hoo!). I finished up with 20 mins on the cross trainer.

great job!

hey you might want to try doing the exercises for the bigger muscles first during your workout so it doesnt exhaust your smaller muscles before you need them....do chest and back first and then throw in biceps and triceps....abs later...honestly, i would choose say 4 exercises for a workout and stick to sets and reps for those 4 with rest intervals in between.....are you doing the BFL style pyramid?

well hmm...maybe you should just go to the gym on days when you need to lift...and on cardio only days you can run outdoors? would that work?

Default Day 7 LBWO

Pammie makes me giggle!!!

Had a sweet LBWO at the gym. I started out with the leg press and I did the pyramid style... Started with 195 for the 12 reps and worked my way up to 235 for the 6 reps. I finished with 12 reps of 215 and did 12 reps of squats with 15 pound dumbells.

Next I did the hamstring curls, starting at 60 and working my way up to 90. I did the second 12 reps with the quadricep machine (because my quads are pretty much shot due to an ACL injury-- I slowly work back up).

Next I did the hip abductor (OK I admit it, I'm addicted, I want sexy thighs) I'm sweet at that, went from 70 to 100.

Finally I did calf raises with weights in my hands. I have charlie horses now, I seriously hate any calf exercise but y'all asked where they were!!!

I finished up with 20 mins of steady state cardio... I wanted to walk out the muscle sorness cuz my calves were not happy with me.

Default Day 9 Challenge UBWO

First started off with back... I only have 5 and 10 pound weights at home so I didn't quite get the burn I wanted, but I am damn sore... I avoided the pyramid training because I didn't have enough weight choice-- but Hey, it's better than skipping a workout all together.

Back:
ROWS- 24 reps with 5 pound weight, 12 reps with 10 pound weights
SUPERMAN- 12, to stretch and tone in between
FLYES (I think that's what they're called)- ditto as rows

Chest:
PUSHUPS- (Girlie style) 12 with arms close together, 12 far apart, 10 close together
DUMBELL PRESS- ditto as rows (OUCH) this was painful

Biceps
REGULAR CURLS- ditto as rows
Hammer curls- Ditoo as rows
Squatting single curl- 10 pounds 15 times

Triceps
DIPS- 12 reps, twice OMG THAT HURTS SO BAD I WAS SHAKING
FRENCH PRESS- 2 5lb weights
*What is it called hwen you bend over a bench and push the tricep up through a row type position and back? I did 12 of those, twice with 5 pound weights

Shoulders:
MILITARY PRESS- 10 lbs, twice
*I don't know what it's called when you lift from arms at side til their extended (but notlocked) and back down? I did same as military press with those and I was in pain. Wowser.

I need to take a shower and see if my body will do ab work during commercial breaks!!!

Default Day 10 Challenge LBWO

(This was Weds workout)

I can't remember exactly but I know I did weighted squats, weighted lunges, calf raises (with weights). I did floor exercises to tone my hot gluteus maximus....

It was a sweet workout and I hurt so bad... I'm mad I didn't log it earlier.

Default Day 12 Challenge HIIT

I only had time to do an 18 min HIIT if I wanted to have time for an ab workout. I did vacuums (I think that's what they're called) and side bends with weights. I also did bicycles for 60 seconds and a 30 second plank. However the workout I started out with was the ab bench where you do a full crunch through moving both your head and legs up... I am now up to 20 pounds for 6 reps. I'm pretty pumped, since at first I couldn't even do 12 reps with 0 weight!!
