Default "Shamrock" Shake!

This isn't much of a recipe, but it really hit the spot! I hadn't even thought about Shamrock Shakes at McD's until Mom and I drove by and it was on the sign.

Anyhoo...I bought the Breyer's CarbSmart vanilla ice cream, some mint extract, and green food coloring. I poured in Hood's Carb Countdown full fat milk and mixed it up with my Cuisinart hand blender ($20 at Kohl's- my favorite gadget of late). Tonight I made it with Divinci's Creme de Menthe syrup and it was just as good, although I could've used more Divinci's.

I'm not even tempted by milkshakes until this time of year and this really took care of my Shamrock Shake fix. Now if I could just make a low-carb Filet-O-Fish (generally gross, but great with the Shamrock shake- must be something from childhood)!

I still remember the one and only time I had one of those green shakes as a kid...the green poop freaked the heck out of me!

I learned that lesson the hard way- leave out the green food coloring! I don't remember that happening when I was little.
