Default 100 Grammer saying hello...

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm new to the forum and due to personal circumstances I cannot adopt a VLC diet, however I do feel that restricting carbs is the way to go for weight loss and overall health. I've adopted a diet now that doesn't exclude any particular food group but limits total carbs to 100 grams per day. I don't play the fiber game, I simply keep total carbs to 100 grams per day or less. This has allowed me to include a good portion of fruits and vegetables in my diet as well as the occasional whole grains and beans. I've lost 5.6 pounds in my first week and am quite pleased by that. I've found that by not going VLC I have less desire to cheat. It simply forces me to make better choices.

I'm hoping to meet others like myself who restrict carbs but not quite so severely as some plans call for.

Welcome!

I'm a semi-low carber - eat about 60 - 100 grams/day - I don't really count carbs - I guestimate what I'm having. I don't consider myself on a "diet", but a lifestyle change. Also adding to the lower-carb lifestyle, I walk (briskly) every day for 25 - 30 min, and recently added resistance bands exercises. I do eat bread, almost daily, but it's a recipe that is lower-carb and the slices are small compared to regular bread. The weight is coming off slowly (20 lbs in about 10 weeks), but it IS coming off!

Everyone is different and everyone should do what works for them.

Good luck on your journey!
