Default Acne

My 11 year old stepsons are spending a couple months with us this summer. The 'younger' twin has some pretty bad acne. I have noticed that since they have been eating with us (me & DH are both doing LC), his acne has not been as bad. They aren't eating as LC as we are, but are eating a lot of meals that are just meat and vegetables.

Has anyone else experienced a clearing up of acne with LC? They both actually seem to enjoy eating this way & prefer vegetables to french fries, etc. I know their mom will NOT continue this when they go home though (unfortunately...she is diabetic & their house is carb central).

Oh yeah, low carbing really clears my skin up . But when I start cheating I start breaking out again.

Interesting blog, Wifezilla! It is hard to search for 'acne' on the forum...the search engine sucks! Too bad the boys will go home & right back to high carb again. They really do seem to enjoy eating LC.

When they notice their faces getting all nasty again, they may ask you about low carb and try to incorporate it more on their own. You can hope anyway.

Yeah, diet can have an impact, but it will not eliminate acne from a pre-teen. I used Accutane as a teen, and it completely cured my acne problem for a lifetime. Acne can have an enormous impact on self-esteem...
