Plan: 1992 Atkins
Stats: 310/255/180 Female 64 inches

Progress:
Default Hoping for another good year

I started at 310 pounds in March 2016. It's been close to a year, I am now 55 years old and at 255 pounds. I am primarily following the 1992 Atkins. I've been walking as well. I'm in Alaska waiting for the thaw. Tried walking 4 miles in ice grippers and bruised my toes. Not the best idea. Looking forward to the spring thaw. I would like to get down to 180 pounds for now. I am about 1 year 1/2 post hysterectomy and have low thyroid that I take levothyroxine for. I also take Metformin for Type 2 Diabetes. They were wanting to put me on insulin. My HA1C was at 10. I have it down to 6.2 HA1C in a year's time of low carbing and starting to walk for about 6 months. I am most happy about that, although the weight loss is very gratifying as well.

Hi and welcome to the boards Lots of nice people here and lots to learn. I'm T2 also, on Metformin - that's awesome you are down to 6.2. It'll come down more with your weight loss. Mine was 11 when diagnosed 20+ years ago.

Wishing you a quick thaw so you can get outside and walk!

We are really close on age and weight. Never been to Alaska, but it's on our bucket list. I am new here too! (from Ohio).

Welcome gstdancer! We are close to the same age. I have T2 and high blood pressure - I'm lucky I'm only on meds for the BP. I know in sticking with this my T2 will go away...
