Default Liquid sweetener/sugar free syrup in UK??

Hi!

I just started Atkins and need to find a liquid sweetener as I only just realised powdered ones have loads of carbs! However, the liquid versions seem impossible to find! Have been to Holland and Barrett and large supermarkets like Tesco Extra. Any ideas? My preference is Stevia or Truvia.

Also if any one knows where to get sugar free syrups please let me know

Help much appreciated!

I think you will have to go online to buy liquid sweeteners (try a web search for "liquid stevia UK"), though I did read of one Atkineer who bought liquid hermasetas from his local chemist on special order a while back.

The syrups you can buy from several lowcarb websites - lowcarbmegastore.co.uk is one I have used in the past.
Or approach one of those fancy high street coffee shops and see if the manager will add sugarfree syrups to his/her order and sell you a bottle or two.

Lowcarbmegastore has ridiculously high postage. I was going to get syrup but changed my mind.

I did a "theoretical purchase" of 4 bottles of syrup (cost £25) and the shipping would be £5.49. (You can click on the "Calculate delivery" section on the checkout page without giving any personal details)
This would make the individual cost per bottle to be £7.62 inc shipping. This equates to only about £1 per 100mls, or 15p per tablespoon.

But ordering 12 bottles (£75) would be the same price for shipping!

And if you added another product for 1p taking the total over £75 you would get free shipping!! Or order a variety of stuff adding up to just over £75 to get free shipping.

FREE DELIVERY
to Mainland UK Only on a 3-5 days service for ALL orders over £75.
I made up an order several years ago for a variety of items to get the free shipping.
It was before Christmas so I ordered sugarfree mincemeat and some sauces and choccies to make the miminum free shipping order. I still have a few bottles of syrup left, as I only use it in baking.

Or if you lived close enough to their warehouse in Northants you could collect from there for free and save the £5.49!!

Have you tried asking the manager of a Nero's/Starbucks/Costa/etc specialist coffee shop if he/she carry any sugarfree syrups and will sell you a bottle? Or order one for you specially with their next order?

I'm remote, up in the outback here lol. No shops nearer than 10 miles. But I think I will put in an order to the website and get enough to last a while, make the postage worthwhile. TY

i love the DaVinci sugar free 'chai' syrup... i mix single cream and water, with a shot of the syrup.... heated in the microwave, and it's lush. I need to remember to try the syrup with soya milk sometime.

Coffeebuyer.co.uk does sugar free syrup, sweet bird brand. About £7.50 a litre bottle.

So basically the only way to get it without ordering online is at a coffee shop....

I'm going to open a low carb/sugar free shop in London!

It isn't something I looked for but am sure I saw coffee flavouring syrups in Tesco the other day - maybe they sell sugar-free ones amongst the full-sugar ones?
