Cool Started Monday

Hi,

I just started Monday, January 13, strictly trying to follow what I got out of Protein Power that I started ready the end of last week. I had read the Zone in the past, but it seemed interesting, but too complex to figure out what to eat. Around Christmas time I had seen in the news about the Duke University study, and read the transcript from CNN from Atkins interview. After going back to work I heard a bit more about low carb eating from a guy using Protein Power. I picked it up, and read it over the weekend. By the end of the weekend I was finding myself not wanting to eat much carbs anymore, and decided to really try starting Monday. By Monday evening I was recording results on Ketostix. Haven't noticed any changes yet, but I don't have an accurate scale at home. Had a headaches the first day, but have been drinking a ton of water, and feeling pretty good today. Not missing carbs at all, beyond what I am getting in cheese, celery or salad, but I have always loved meat/eggs, and am not missing bread/potatoes and such. Though Ketchup has been missed, mustard just isn't the same
After reading through this site, I thought I would sign up and pipe in my 2 cents.

Hoping this goes as well as I think it will

Hi Kevin,

A big warm WELCOME to this way of eating.

I'm glad it seems to be going well for you. A lot of people experience a few headaches at first but it goes away after a bit.

You might like to take some measurements of your waist etc. now you're starting out. It's often a good indicator of the weight you are getting rid of.

Maybe someone could recomment something instead of ketchup for you? I put mayo and sour cream on a lot of things.

Regards,

Robert

Cool Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I have taken those measurements, part of computing lean body mass and such in the Protein Power book. I will definately be interested in those changes, though the big one I am interested in watching is the loops in my belt

So far mustard is good for most things I want more flavour on, but I see getting bored. And I bought a real mayo to use on some meatloaf I'm planning. Thanks for the suggestions.
