Although lurking is free, you have to register in order to sign-up that you want to attend a "Meetup". And although signing up is free initially, most of the features that make the "Meetup" system functional are only available for a fee -- $19US per 6 mos. That includes listing a planned Meetup meeting.

It's a good idea, but as always, there's a catch

Ya...as I quickly found out...but it is still exciting to be made aware of others in the area. I would love to eventually meet other low carbers in my area. I think this would be lots of fun and good for morale!

Froufie, What part of Canada are you in? If you change your profile to reflect your location, it would be easier for you to meet low carbers who are local to you!

The meet up site states there is an atkins meet up tonight at 7pm but does not give a location. Any idea how I could find out the location. The city is given (vancouver) just not where in vancouver????

I think you have to sign up to be able to read that information.
