I'm on Long Island- and when I searched for that it told me that "long" is too common a word and not included in the search. :lol

So I guess I'm only about an hour's drive from you- if it's not rush hour!

Hello Ruthla,

I was surprised to see that someone posted to my thread considering it was over 2 years ago!

I've been slacking on low carbing. I'm trying to find a balance so I can continue to lose weight. I was doing Atkins for a very long time. I've been reading into No Flour, No Sugar. I feel it has the same low carb concept, but it will allow you to eat brown rice and baked potatoe at the start. I'll see what happens.

Ruthla, can you tolerate Soy Milk? My son and I are lactose intolerant and we both drink it.

I found your thread because I wanted to see if there was already a Long Island thread- but there wasn't.

Right now I'm on an even more restrictive diet because I'm hoping to heal some other health issues- so soy is out for now. I'm using coconut milk in a lot of stuff, drinking my coffee black, and I tried some prepackaged almond milk, but it does have soy lecithin so I'm going to keep that out of my diet for the time being. If I find I can tolerate small amounts of soy, I'll probably keep some almond milk in the pantry- but for now I'm staying away from it.
