Default has anybody tried any of Julian bakery's Paleo Breads

was wondering if anybody had tried any of the Paleo breads made by Julian bakery. I have a location nearby that happens to carry it and I read the coconut bread is the best tasting and lowest carb. Does anybody have an opinion?

i purchased the Julian Bakery Coconut Bread at Whole Foods for over $11.00.
It was so bad.. I threw it outside and the possum wouldn't eat it.
Then I found a bunch of videos of people that could wash cars, windows, tops of stove ranges.. with a slice of bread that never disintegrates.

It was a waste of money and I'm sure it's in the backyard growing mushrooms now..

** go to Youtube and type in Julian bakery bread.. You're in for nightmares!

ccertainly that, as their products are not lowcarb/ are a scam, but also they are a very bad company I would never support with my $$$.

I really like the coconut bread, but only toasted.
I just bought the cinnamon carb zero bread, and even toasted - I just can't do it. I just can't find the flavor. I plan on adding some jelly so I can work through what I have, but I won't be purchasing more of the carb zero. I will go back to the paleo coconut.

I read good things about their almond paleo. I want to try to make it based on their ingredients. Anyone tried it?

I'd make something from our recipe forums rather than attempt anything from those con artists. If you click on the links above, you'll see what I mean.

I agree with Rosebud. Lots of good bread recipes in the cooking forum here. I like the Cranberry Walnut coconut flour bread. I don't usually use dried cranberries though because they're always sugared. Normally I use fresh ones and cook them with a non-caloric sweetener and then mix it into the batter. Or I might make lemon bread out of it.

I looked at Woodman's for low-carb bread and it all felt thick and just solid. I am going to avoid it at all costs. Who knows what issues my digestive system may have working on breaking that mess down. yikes. Some of the recipes on this site look like they may be worth trying though. :-)

I've actually tried it and liked it a lot, $6.99 at my local health food store, same price as the coconut which I thought was nasty, though not totally terrible if toasted. I don't buy the almond bread anymore, but basically because of price. I've always been interested in baking and have made TONS of different recipes over the years - but I admit I really liked this almond bread the best for using with a sandwich.

But since I don't want to pay the price I've just given up the idea of sandwiches again, . Some of the breads and oopsie rolls and things I've baked over the years have been pretty decent, but none of them worked well for a quick sandwich.
