Default New to posting but not to reading...

I am taking Donald's advice and introducing myself before posting. I have enjoyed reading this forum since I began my low-carb adventure but I not much of a "poster".
Today, however, I had a little triumph I thought I would share for anyone else who began to excercise. The day started rotten, got on the scale and I had only lost 5lbs. in a month. Not to encouraging considering I had been excersizing a great deal, quite faithfully, for two months. Before my daily excursion to the gym, too console myself, I decided to try on some clothes....well suprise, suprise, I ran the skinny girl at Lane Bryant ragged sending her for, not one, but two new sizes! This will be the last outfit I purchase at this particular store, I am now wearing their smallest size and I will wait another few months to shop again. So, the scale may not entirely reflect my hard work, however, my jeans do!

Just to further my introduction...I am 34, married for 12 years with two girls, 4 and 7. I work for the school district on occasion doing special projects but mainly I volunteer for my childrens school and "stay-at-home". I am treasurer for their parent teacher group at school. Before kids, I earned a BA degree in Economics and worked for a seafood exporter in their finance department.

Welcome CarolSue. I'll take inches over pounds, anytime!! People see what SIZE you are, they don't know how much you weigh unless you tell them.

Welcome and congratulations on your new found clothing size! That must feel absolutely wonderful!

Also, I just wanted to say that my daughter are also 3 years apart - they are now 3 and 6.

Hi CarolSue, I'm glad I read your post today. I have some things in common with you. When I started in Jan. I weighed 271, and started reading the posts here. I've only started to post myself about 2 weeks ago. If I'm not to nosey, could you tell me what size you are now that you weigh 205? The reason I ask is I don"t weigh myself at all I go by size. I know from other times I have lost weight, that when I was about 200, I wore a size 16-18. lol, ddmumm

So glad that your sexy self found a new size! Whoo hoo!
It's so encouraging to ask for a size smaller, but you had to get 2 sizes. I would have been clicking my heels for sure! Whoo hoo!
Glad to see you are reaping the reward for all your hard work!

Truth is, it was pretty tough not to scream or squeal or jump up and down with delight right there in the dressing room! Thank you all for the encouragement, I think I needed it, maybe a bit of a "mid-diet crisis" was setting in.
Ddmumm, I don't mind answering at all. At Lane Bryant I am a 14W but I wear a 16 in the misses department of other places like Macy's. I am 5'5" and have a large frame. I hope that helps.
