Default Introduction

Hi, I am a newbie. I have finally decided to take control of my health. I am prediabetic, 345 pounds, 5'4'' female. I have lost 20 pounds in three weeks by exercising and drinking Muscle Milk (protein drink/somewhat low carbs) and salads.

I want more than protein drinks everyday. Even through it is low in carbs it is too surgery because I can taste it and it is throwing my body out of wack ( 1/2 bread is still bread). I am thinking about going back onto CAD. I tried this before years ago but went crazy during the RM (eventually leaving off the salads all together).

One thing I will miss is the shake and go protein shakes in the morning that take less than a minute to prepare and one could eat on the run (MM: 1 scoop is 150 calories 8 grams of carbs). I would like suggestions and helps. I love for you to post your success stories. Thanks and I welcome the support/fellowship/friendship.

hi and welcome-

if you are going to do CAD, given your issues inthe past, do you think you might want to do a more CALP style and have a very balanced RM. Planning out your RM, putting it all on the table portioned out, really helped me in the beginning.

We post on the HOur Power thread-

I have been on this plan for over 7 years, and lost all of my weight doing CALP. I love it!

It is so great you are taking charge of your health!

okay- please let us know how it is going. I think the planning and portion control helped me a lot. I never got intothe 'how much can I eat in my hour' thing. I was so full from the salad and veggies!

Just started this program myself and you know I told my hubby tonight, even if I don't lose weight on this diet, I'm going to continue it, because the recipes taste sooooo good!
