A new book by Dr. Tieraona LowDog M.D. Listened to a podcast with her about it on the People's Pharmacy. Interesting information on nutrient deficiency resulting from common medications, PPIs, statins, ace inhibitors, etc. http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2016...-sense-for-you/ Covered so many topics, differences in age, race, gender, vegetarians, etc. on dietary needs. Very balanced, wide-ranging and informative discussion about her book:
http://www.amazon.com/Fortify-Your-...s/dp/1426216688 published Feb 2. She has been on other podcasts, good questions asked on this one (Joe is a pharmacist)

Her blog/website: https://drlowdog.com This site has many resources, list of events, blog covers other topics in addition to nutrients and supplements like stress, etc.

I listened to this podcast. It's the best overview of supplements I have heard. I am tempted to buy the book since one thing that never seems to be answered sufficiently, at least for me, is how to assure getting enough micronutrients eating low carb.

Luckily, our library had already ordered it, and has the Graedon's Home Remedies book, both published by National Geographic (somewhat odd little segment that doesn't really fit with the rest of their books). Bit of a wait list though.
I have heard her interviewed before this book came out, but as with you, this interview resonated more since she answered if you eat this way, or are this age, or live X, then you should supplement with y. Specific, but not over-hyping one miracle vitamin, I am hoping the book will be a reasonable guide to optimal nutrition.

This looks most intriguing, and might be worth blowing a chunk of my monthly book budget on.

Proper supplementing has been about half of my progress in treating my weird illness. Thanks!
