Hello, Veronica, and welcome! The best advice I can give you is to keep your Atkins book close at hand at all times. If you no longer have your book, then by all means get another copy.

Howdy and welcome...

I would echo the "book"... Read the book make sure you know what you are doing.

Secondly.... WHOLE FOODS... no frankenfood (boxed)... if you don't make it fresh then don't eat it.... stay away from the low carb products... they can cause a stall and are full of chemicals...

My 2 cents.

I echo that, read the book and then read it again and ask all the questions you can think of. Come over to Journals and post.
Oh, measure yourself. Sometimes the pounds don't go but the inches seem to melt off.

Good morning to you. I see you are starting Atkins, I wish you the best. Have you ever been on an Atkins diet before? I was on South Beach 2 years ago and did well, but then backslid majorly... and so I am back to get on track. Anyway, I was really pleased with the program and fast results. Atkins looks sort of the same in this reguard. I wanted to encourage you to start a journal and look at the my P.L.A.N.... both are really good tools.

Hi there! I did the Atkins for a couple of weeks like 4-5 years ago. I got really bored because I didn't have all this help and guidance and variety of recipes like there is now.
I've started the my P.L.A.N...I thought that was pretty neat. I'm looking into the journal now. Don't know what the heck to write about.

You can check out other people journals in order to get ideas on what to write in yours. Some people like a quick list of what they've been eating and their exercise, some write things they are learning and others use it to be encouraged and to encourage others.

For me some days are too hecktic to sit down and write alot in My P.L.A.N. and that is when I'll just write a summary of what happened that day in the journal and what I ate.

Hey, Veronica! I so agree with T-man about staying away from chemical laden/processed foods. I am SO about whole foods as well - it feels so great when I know I am making good, whole food choices. I like to look around on the internet for low carb recipes - I have found so many ideas that help keep me from getting bored. I like to go to sites such as foodnetwork.com or look in cookbooks and "tweak" recipes that interest me to make them low carb and healthy! It's a fun challenge for me and really can keep low carb eating interesting and fun.
