Unhappy Hi everyone

Hi Everyone, Iam a 48 year old woman from Milton keynes. (Well someones gotta live there!!!!) I have 2 girls one 19 and one 7. I have suffered from a low thyroid and adrenal insufficiency for many years and sadly a very sweet tooth ! I have gone from 6 sugars in my tea to a sweetener and no sweet stuff at all. Just meat, fish cheese the usual Atkins diet. I just hope that this works !!! I am in my 3rd day and my god it's hard especially when my kids are sitting toasting marshmallows on the fire !

Welcome! I'm glad you're here. Don't worry about if it (the diet) works, it will work. Your cravings will diminish. I'm hoping you have access to an actual Atkins book if that is the plan you wish to follow.

Anyway, good luck and keep posting and reading on here. Let us know how your progress is going.

Have a wonderful day!

hey shine,
don't worry. It can all seem a bit overwhelming, but the more you read up about LC and the more you surround yourself with reference material, support networks (like this place) and easily acessible resources, the more normal and natural it will become.

Can't offer any support on how to handle living with the concrete cows though!!

Good luck

Every hour, every day that you stick with it, it gets easier.

FYI, the worst days are days 3-5--that's usually when you are converting from a glucose burning engine to a ketone burning engine. Day 6 will hit and you'll feel like a new woman.

Take it from me, I don't call it DDT for nothing (Dreaded Day Three )

Lisa
