So searching for a forum where I can get support and like-minded people I came across this forum.
I began to get into the frame of mind that at my age (55) I should just accept the extra weight as part of getting older but I don't want to!!
So here I am right at the start of re-starting my low-carbing and determined to lose those extra pounds.

You don't have to accept that just because you are a "certain age" that the excess poundage is a foregone conclusion. There are many of us who are peri, menopausal, and post-menopausal who have had not only great success in losing the weight, but also improvements in our health. Albeit when you are older you are also fighting slower metabolism, helath issues such as thyroid and hormaonal imbalances, but it can be done.
Right off the top of my head I could probably list at least a 1/2 dozen posters who are right at that certain age. I'll start with me! I'm 49.

Read their posts and their journals, ask lots of questions, come here for support.
