Default Day Four. Feeling better :)

Hey all. I'm just closing out Day Four of induction. I haven't gotten the Atkins "flu" yet and am hoping that perhaps I'll bypass it altogether. When is that supposed to kick in? I have been seriously crabby though--today was definitely better that way, much much better.

I was so so hungry the first three days, and ate well over 2000 calories each of those days, which I realize from tracking via Fitday (using this to track the carbs, but it shows calories). Today I ate about 1600 calories; I'm just not starving today. And interestingly, TOM is due tomorrow (sorry if that's TMI).

I just thought I'd report on my progress thus far, for any other newbies who are interested in people's experiences.

Your doing great! Everyone is different. I suppose there are some who did not go through the induction flu. If you were going to get it, I would think you would have already. Just consider yourself lucky.
That's one of the good things about ketosis, it really curbs your appetite. You won't feel near as hungry as before.
Just remember, with TOM, you will have weight fluctuations. It varies with everyone. Some report as much as a 5lb or more gain. Just stick to the plan and it will go away when TOM goes away.
Hang in there!!

Ditto what Hayes said. Wow, if you got a pass on the "flu" then you don't know how nice you've got it! If you were to "de-Atkinsize", you might not be so lucky, so take full advantage! Good LCing!

I'm going to sit over here being jealous.(kidding)

I got the ind. flu in the beginning. I think it took a couple of days before it hit me and wow did it hit me. I hope you bypassed it free and clear. It was fun in some respects though. I felt high, like I had smoked a funny cigarette. That feeling is gone of course now. Now I enjoy increased energy.

speaking of "induction flu".. mine wasnt so bad.. I just felt soooooooo tired.. like i could have fallen over at any given point and go to sleep.. slight headaches but not to bad... other than that it was great and it only lasted like two days.. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

Thanks, all!

It seems to be so different for everybody.

I'm well into my second week now, and still no flu. So I guess I've bypassed it altogether. I'm so happy. I mean there are worse things in life but the fewer stresses, the better. You know?

I had SERIOUS cravings last night out of nowhere. It was weird because I haven't really had cravings, I mean not bad ones. At all. Just last night, BAM, and I came so close to devouring my son's birthday cake. It was weird. I held out and feel great today but am up two pounds... I ate a salad dressing on Sunday which I suspect might have had sugar in it and I'm wondering if that's what caused the cravings and the weight gain.

I try to think of this in the long term, and also it's as much just to control my craving/bingeing as it is to control my weight.
