Default gotta start induction, without falling into a fall off the wagon rut

I need to start induction properly this time, because with my last time I tried to start, I would eat eggs, morning, noon nite, because they were very easy, and always right there, so while cooking meals for the family, I would have eggs different ways, with a few slices of cheese here and there, super boring, and of course I couldnt last more than 2 days.
any ideas for some good easy foods to have on induction?

a nice, big, juicy ribeye... 4 minutes on a foreman grill and you're good to go.

roasted chicken... brush with olive oil, drizzle with spices, 20 minutes per pound at 400 degrees. *drool*

shrimp tossed in melted garlic butter and sauteed mushrooms.

giant salads with lettuce, cucumber, mushrooms, tomatoes, radishes, olives, and a creamy full-fat dressing.

I can't eat eggs throughout the day. I ate salmon, tuna, chicken, bbq pork, chicken wings (you can bake them or fry them), shrimp, crableggs w/ butter, sandwhich steak is quick and easy. Do you not like meat?

I had a steak and egg omlette this morning. I had sandwhich steak for lunch. Then I had baked chicken wings for supper.

Eat them with a green leafy vegatable and you'll be all good.

There is a recipe section of this forum. Some are quick and easy and some more complicated.

Make sure you have plenty to eat. I find what helps me is buying meat for the week and fixing my lunch with my diner. I work during the day so it helps me not get stuck figuring out what to eat for lunch at work.

I hope that helps.

I agree ^^^^ The recipe forum here is fantastic for Induction ideas I had chicken salad today (day 9) and some cheese crisp. I also had a Atkins shake for breakfast. Some people say No in Induction regarding the shakes, but it is working for me.

I also have been making stuffed protabellos. You can stuff them with Corizo sausage (make sure there's no sugar in the sausage) or crap w/ cream cheese and scallions, I made one last night with Asiago cheese and asparagus.

Just stick to it and it does get easier, don't close your mind to eggs and meat, otherwise you will get bored. Remember eat your veggies (the ones allowed)

Also keep up woth your journal, post what you ate etc, it really helps to keep track and it is great to get feedback from people that are cheering you on

thanks so much for the tips! yes, I do like meat, but for whatever reason, I got stuck with the "egg diet" only becuase they were always there, so ready in the fridge, while cooking dinner for the family, but incredibly boring! which is why I am sure thats why I havent been able to stay on track.
I also have a very bad habit of needing to "test" the tater tots sometimes as many as 8 just to make sure they were just right, or a huge spoonful of mashed potatoes, had to make sure they were perfect thats just craziness!!!! no more!!

I would say for the Induction stage don't make Tater Tots or mashed potatoes for the family Once you get through that stage, and get in the mode, you will be less tempted when you do make them, but for the first two weeks, I wouldn't make them

I agree. You might want to incorporate LC cooking for your family as well: nutrient-dense real food is good for everybody. That way you're not tempted even after Induction, nor stuck having to prepare different dinners for yourself and family.

Cheers--

I can't praise this website enough...

http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/induct...tion_menus.html

I have tried a ton of new recipes from it... and I have not had a bad one yet...

As well it kinda openened my eyes that being on Induction is just not as limiting as people want to think it is...

Be careful of the recipes on Linda's website-they are very good! I have a hard time with portion control so I can easily overeat her recipes and this drives my carb count up!

Have some cooked meats on hand... then make wraps with a big lettuce leaf and a little mayo or dressing. Great filling snack or meal.

Yeeks!

Make sure you have eaten something and are not hungry when you cook your family's meal. Or just cook them a low carb meal that you can enjoy along with them. If you don't tell them it is low carb they may not know!!!!!!

This happened to me both my other times with Atkins - ate too many eggs, got bored, ate off plan, fell off the wagon. This time, I've done what the other posters here advise - keep the fridge stocked with easy-to-grab things I enjoy. As for dinner, I plan a protein and plenty of veggies, and make some rice or potatoes for DH and DS. Now that BBQ season is in full swing, it's easier than ever to make delicious dinners on the grill.

does she post here?

When I found that site I couldnt believe how thorough and well done it was. She puts alternate recipes for the same foods that she's perfected or enhanced and pictures them as well. Im sure most here have been well aware of it but it was new to me. I even emailed her to thank her for her work. She should write a book for her efforts.
