Default I feel like I am starving myself and have no energy!

Help! I have gone off and on and off and on again with this candida diet because it is sooooo hard to eliminated ALL SUGARS and ALL CARBS(that break down into sugars).

I just had lunch and (i live in a dorm a school) and there was breaded pork chops and I had to scrape off the breading. I also had a few bites of a salad with out any dressing on it and it never tastes that good.

I know that a candida diet is pretty much protein and fats and complex carbs. No simple carbs like sugary things.

I do not know what to eat and was wondering if anyone have any good ideas or healthy snacks through the day...is organic apple suace and plaing yogurt ok even during the first week that I start up again?

I also was reading some information on the interenet and some pieces say to
1) take away food that feeds yeast, 2) kill it with an anti-fungal (Nystatin prescription or just natural garlic in food), and 3) add in a good bacteria(probiotic pill)-----that internet source says to do all that all at once

another internet source says to take it a step at a time and that you have to take the food away the feeds the yeast and that you have to starve the yeast for over a week to a month BEFORE starting the anti-fungal Nystatin and then once you have started the anti-fungal you have to wait for a while to then start the probiotic and get good bacteria again...

is it ok to just do it all at once because i can not stand to be on this diet and not try to use Nystatin or take probiotic pills...while I am trying to lesson the carbs...

I really want to get the symptoms away cause the white spots on the tongue are annoying, when I eat high sugary things or high carbs in the past my tongue would swell up and burn and get red sometimes, and the sides of my tounge have indents/cracks as if my teeth bite into my tongue at night....

It has been an ongoing battle for a year....and I am ready to finally battle it even if i feel like I am fasting...

Hi it's me again. You probably feel the way you do because you're experiencing die-off now. It will pass, trust me, it'll pass and you'll feel so good!

Again thought, I have to say to speak with your doc about your comments and questions. She or he should have addressed all of those questions specific to your body and how bad your infection is. I'd call the office first thing in the morning and talk to someone on the phone and have them go over the protocol until you feel comfortable with exactly what they want you to do such as do they want you to take the probiotics concurrently with the Nystatin? Mine did, she put me on them before the tests were even back based solely on the symptoms. Also have them give you a list of specific foods to avoid, they should have that for you and it sounds like you already know the drill...don't feed the yeast.

Since you've had this for a year I assume you've heard of Dr. Crook. If you don't already own one of his books then I recommend that you go to the library and get a book by Dr Crook. Any of his on Candidiasis that they have will be good. And follow his guidelines if they don't conflct with your doc's.
Meanwhile buy one for a penny at Amazon here

They also have the recipe book at Amazon really cheap, too. There's a lot of books and information out there, but going by the sheer volume of people that he's helped, I'd say stick with the tried and true plan.

Be sure to tell your doc that your oral thrush is STILL very painful and active and you're about out of meds (like you said in your other post) and ask them what you should do.

I've done the anti-candidas diet off and on for about 2 decades and I know it can be boring, but you nailed it when you said

It's important to follow your doc's instructions including getting liver function tests done while on the antifungal drugs.
Do take care.

Default Thankyou for the response!

It seems like you are very knowledgeable and I am going to look into getting that book on Amazon.com. As of now I am trying to add in supplements to my diet like a multi vitamin, a probiotic, calcium pill, iron and vitamin c...stuff like that...they all seem pretty good except sometimes when i take the vitamin c(i dunno if there might be yeast in it or something)but i notice that does not help my problem and makes my tongue hurt and everything gets worse....maybe you would know if certain vitamins are bad to take on a candida diet?

but anyway thank you for your previous help!!!!

Oh I forgot to mention, these are symptoms of die off. So whatever you're doing, you're doing good things. I also would get flu like symptoms and be b#tchy, really irritable, so not me, but help me it felt bad. Die off can be hard then also your doing the low carb, so you may also be reacting to the sugar and carb withdrawls. Hang in there.

Hi, I don't know your entire situation, but are you taking live acidopholus? It can be very helpful. Also, don't douche. It just washes the healthy bacteria that fight yeast right. And it turns yeast infections into a vicious cycle. If you feel you MUST douche, then do so with a mixture of sterile water and yoghurt with LIVE CULTURE. This helps replace the helpful bateria that fights yeast.

Oh yes, use PLAIN yoghurt. There is an urban legend about a woman who followed her physician's yoghurt douche advice but used strawberry yoghurt. I don't even want to go into the results of that. lol

I have been fairly unaffected by yeast in my life save for a few times when I was pregnant and maybe a couple times since then, but the acidopholus has always helped me.

Vitamin C alone is very acidic. Make sure you take it with food. If you've got a decent multivitamin I wouldn't think you'd need a vitamin C pill though.
