Default Poached rhubarb and ginger in diet sprite- genius or missing something?

I usually poach Febs forced rhubarb in sugar syrup. I've recently tried it with splenda but as you need to use so much to make the syrup I was sure it was very carb laden, then genius ( I hope) I've been poaching it in diet sprite it sometimes need just a sprinkle to sweeten it up after the poaching but otherwise it's great.

Am I right to be only counting the carbs from the Rhubarb?
