Default Naughty, naughty whipped cream...

Nothing obscene here, either - just inspired by the "feeling yourself" post!

That said, I really do need to badmouth whipped cream, or at least my reaction to it. It has definitely reignited my cravings for sweets, so tomorrow morning, I'm back to a no-sweet menu. Eggs, meat, salad, cheese, but NO SWEETS, not even legal sweets. They apparently don't work for me, at least not yet.

Thanks for letting me work this out online!

Hey Piecegal

its great that you can acknowledge that the sweetness in the whipped cream causes cravings for you and you've made a decision to avoid anything sweet right now, bodes well for your future on lowcarb

I am alot like you, crave the "sweet" things in life. I too love whipped heavy cream and find that the more I have the more I want it. It is the only way I get more fat into me though.

I am torn?

I also use heavy whipping cream. In my coffee. That said, you can get more fat by adding a healthy size dollop of mayonnaise to some tuna or chicken salad! Or deviled eggs..

Default What's the sweetener?

Is it the cream or the sweetener that's being used? Two different variables. I don't do well with the stuff from the can, but can tolerate the stuff I whip myself.

Time of day also matters. Sweet flavors in the morning can wreck my day.

YMMV.

This is why I haven't tried it! I know I will not be able to have just one serving. When I buy the SF candy I just can't stop with one piece. And then, of course, I overdo it and end up not losing!

When I use the heavy whipped cream, I find that I don't even need a sweetner - it makes the coffee perfect without it. I use SF vanilla syrup and the heavy cream - Yummerifick!

I do this, too, but also add my coconut oil

Yes, I just recently came to the realization that I cannot allow heavy whipped cream to be a standard item in my diet. It creates all kinds of problems for me, not the least of which is severe cravings for sweets! I have struggled for almost a year to gain some measure of control over the amount of heavy cream I was using, and I just can't seem to do it, which is why I've never made the chocolate whipped cream treat. I know I'd eat it all at one sitting, and then make more and eat that, too! So, I no longer buy it.

It has been my experience that the majority of recipes that call for heavy whipped cream produce equally good results when made with half-and-half.

Whipped cream has 'saved my bacon ' (so to speak) in the last few weeks. My method is to measure out 3 tbsp. (150 calories) into a 2 cup measuring cup - which is deep and wide enough to allow both beaters in there and eliminate the splattering factor. This makes a decent serving over berries...or whatever.

Chocolate and raspberry/blueberry is an amazing combination that I savour.

It's not my intention to sabotage or change your minds - just sayin'! It can be a very good and saving thing.

Whipped cream has come in handy several times when I get to the end of the day and realize my fat count and or calorie count is not where I want it to be. I always thought that I would have to limit my calories, but there are many times when I am not getting enough! Like today, my calorie count came out to only 1367, a bit low for my 208 pounds. Especially when you add it the 30 minutes of cardio I did.
