Default getting enough fat to make a difference

I think I'm getting enough protein in my daily intake, but I'd like to know how those of you in Atkins get the wonderful fat in to really help with the weight loss. My fat is mainly butter of my veggies, lots of mayo on my meat and that in the form of salad dressings, ie bleu cheese, ranch.

How do you get enough fat in?

are you using a nutritional tracker? something like MY P.L.A.N. or fitday? that's going to help you see if you're getting enough fat. most of the time, mine comes in the form of chicken skins, steaks or other cuts of meat with a good fat layer to them, using olive oil in cooking, melted butter over everything that'll handle it, using heavy cream when and where possible, the mayo is good, and sometimes from snacking on pork rinds. i believe the ideal ratio for calories from the three components is 70% from fat, 20%+ from protein, -10% from carbs.

I eat fatty meats, top lean meats (chicken breast, london broil) with butter or cream sauce, cook meats in bacon fat, butter or olive oil, add butter or hollandaise to veggies, use salad dresssings, and use heavy cream in sauces, coffee and desserts.

What they said!

Most comes from fatty meats -dark poultry with skin, steaks and pork with a nice bit of fat on it.

Wow, when I just read that, it sounded so weird, with all the fat stuff we eat like cooking in bacon fat, sauces, etc, its the same things that we are taught will clog and artery and kill us all. I love this wol

I despaired over this question once upon a time... Even adding whatever I could think of to whatever I was eating didn't really make a dent. I still got too few calories for a bird to live on, LOL! But then I started taking coconut oil to rev up my metabolism and it's 100 %fat (obviously). 6 tablespoons, which is what I take most days equals something like 800 Kcals. And most or all of this gets burned for fuel right away, making your temperature go up and your muscles want to MOVE. I'm gotten antsy on this stuff! None, or very little, potentially gets stored. Besides, there's all sorts of testimonials here on the forum about how great it is for the body, including hair and skin!
