Default Hey there!

Hello, I am Salyc. I am 30 years old and used to be the skinny girl the could eat anything. After having my daughter at 20 It slowly snuck up on me. One day around the age of 26 I stepped on the scale at the Doctor’s office and was a mess. The last I remember weighing was 135 and not to see this number… over 200? Where did it come from?
I tried every pill and diet under the sun… and actually gained more weight. I later started a new job, where I met a girl who had been through all that too. We had the same body type, similar history, and even the same blood type. OK, I’ll try anything. She made Atkin’s make since. “It’s caveman food. They didn’t have processed sugars and pasta and grains and breads…It’s how we were built to eat”
So I got the book, and I started. I felt great and in short order started looking great too.
2 years laer I got married moved and added a step-daughter and a roommate/nanny to the house. Money was tight and rice and pasta are cheep. Befor I knew it I was “livin large” again. I felt lazy and had heartburn all the time.
So this week we start again. I hate induction, but know if I can hang a few weeks, then I get to add a few goodies.
This time no excuses. Low-carb for life not just for now. To get it off thenkeep it off means I have to stay off the pasta( my biggest weekness.)

Welcome aboard!

As a fellow "repeater", one suggestion I'd like to make is to dust off the book (if you haven't already!) and read it again. I am in the process of doing that now, and am finding all sorts of things I'd forgotten.

Good luck to you!

Welcome Salyc I agree with CNYMom, I recently took another look at the book and had one of those aha moments! It's amazing what we forget.

Anyway best of luck with your journey

oh yes I have ... my personal copy is filled with highlights, post-it flags and underlines. I also found a atkins cookbook on the cklearance rack at barnes & Nobel "SCORE"
I've actually found ways that i can cook 1 meal instead of one for me and one for the family!
