Default Psyllium capsules containing gluten?

I've been having bad stomach ache despite sticking to my usual low carb diet, and I think it may be due to using this

http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pa...8&np=1&cpid=238

which is psyllium capsules but on closer inspection I've noticed that they contain wheat/gluten and soya, would this be enough to bother my stomach so much though?
Other than that I've been taking anti-candi, oil of oregano and garlic capsules which led me at first to believe the cramps were due to die off, but now I'm thinking otherwise?
Is psyllium completely essential? I'm considering getting the powder but first not taking either just to let my stomach settle down a bit with the low carbing (I'm only on day four after a bit of an unintentional christmas 'break' of sorts) Usually It only takes a couple of days low carbing for my stomach to feel settled, but it just isn't happening this time.

I use the powder with no trouble, but I think just going without for a few days is a good idea for you, till you feel better, I do get sick after anytime I cheat, though, as my body adjusts to burning fat again.

In my experience and working with a lot of people, pysillium is too harsh in a large majority of those who take it.

I would use ground flax seed or use Udo's Choice Wholesome Fast Food Blend. It is delicious and has probiotics, enzymes ,protein and has flax, slippery elm and other cool soothing herbs.

If you're sensitive to gluten then those will definintely upset you. I'd look for something without the gluten.

thanks very much for your replies. Yeah I also get a bit ill when I start back but this was different, really painful but in a different way than my usual stomach ache, which is making me think perhaps the psyllium was a little too rough for my stomach to handle right now too. I'll definately try the flax seed in the short term I think, thanks again!

How about cold milled flax seed? Would that be okay?

Are you referring to Bobs flax seed meal? I like flax seed meal.

I think what you are referring to is great.

I grind up "Golden Flax for you" in a coffee grinder 1/4 cup a day

So you guys are recommending flax ground instead of the psyllium... I've noticed I have breakouts lately, perhaps the psyllium is the root of the problem. I will try the flax seeds instead, thanks! I must admit, although I like this way of eating, a huge problem for me is not being regular which is always why I go off of it. I know that low carb is best for me and want to stay on it so I hope the flax is the answer.
