Default Induction Question

Ok, I have done Atlins once before and am familiar with induction. This time seems MUCH easier and I feel like eating less food. Here is my dilema...I am having a hard time getting 20 carbs in per day. I am eating 2 cups of salad with salad toppings(veggies) and 1 cup of some veggie per day but that isn't adding up to 20 carbs so I am eating a few extra veggies. Here is a sample of my food day:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs/w/cheese/veggies/bacon & Coffee
Lunch: Broiled ground sirloin/w/may/mustard/cheddar cheese on a bed of spinach.
dinner: broiled chicken/steamed veggies/salad greens with fixin' like celery, peppers.
Desert: diet Shasta Rootbeer made with Splenda/and /or cheese cheese with splenda and leom or lime juice.

Any comments? Snacks could be a handfull of pork rinds/celery stuffed with cream cheese....bottom line..Im eating alot of food...
Thanks for the imput!

Agreed - looks fine to me, also. I assume that you are counting the carbs in the cheese, too?

What kind of vegetables are you eating? If you are looking to increase your carb count from them, some of the relatively higher net carb count vegetables allowed on induction are:
  • sweet red bell peppers (6 net carbs/cup)
  • cherry tomatoes (5 net carbs/cup)
  • cooked turnips (5 net grams/cup)
  • onion (9 net carbs/cup of sliced)
  • leek (8 net carbs/leek)
  • eggplant (6 net carbs/100 grams)
  • cooked pumpkin (9 net carbs/1 cup mashed)
  • spaghetti squash (8 net carbs/cup)
(Carb counts are from the NutritionData website.)

Are you sure? If you're journaling your food in My PLAN, Fitday or a similar site, you might find you're doing just fine. Some of what you've mentioned - like lemon juice, powdered Splenda, peppers and other veggies - have decent carb counts. Assuming your coffee isn't black, you might also be picking up a few more with every cup. Take a closer look and you might be surprised.

Yes, I use FITDAY and log every bite..cheese..veggies...today I am right at 20...so I guess my questions is this..If I eat more than 2 cups salad/1 cup veggies and stay under 20 carbs am I ok? Yes, I count the Splenda packet as 1 carb and count my black coffee too..I log in EVERYTHIN! Thanks for all the help!

Your food sounds just right to me--sounds like almost exactly how I ate to lose the first 100 pounds. We would do well eating together!
