Default Need a chocolate chip cookie recipe.

I have been trying a few chocolate chip cookies recipes the past month and none have come out tasting {as if it was worth the time and ingredients}. PB cookies, pumkin nut cookies etc came out fine. Since the holidays are upon us the kiddos really want me to make the chocolate chip cookies. Can you lovely people please share your favorite recipe for this cookie ?

If you look through the recipe forums, there are recipes for chocolate chip cookies in both the Breads and Baked Goods subforum, as well as Sweet Treats. Just check the Contents stickies.

Thanks Rosebud.. I know about the recipes here on the forum all to well. That's why i was asking peoples "favorite" for this kind of cookie. I have wasted too much ingredients on recipes that did'nt work out. But thanks anyhow.

Coconut Almond cookies:

2c almond meal
1 c unsweetened dried coconut
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp xanthan
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
3/4 butter-melted
1/2 c splenda or 1/3 c honey

Mix everything except the coconut and almond flour for several minutes. It works best if they emulsify. Then add the coconut, then the almond meal. It should come out about as firm as drop cookie dough. If not, add more almond meal.

I like them very chocolaty, so I use a whole bag of chips, but a 1/2 bag is probably plenty for that batch. Bake on a silicon mat if you have one. 350 for 16 mins is what I use, but I live at high altitude, so watch the timing.

You'll need to pat the dough into shap on the cookie sheet. Unless you use honey, the batter will stay *exactly* the shape it has when you put it in the oven.

Just FYI, by varying the extract and adding other flavorings, I've used that as a base to make a whole bunch of different flavored cookies. Spice cookies work especially well, but use about 1/3 more than you would for your old carby recipe.

Honestly, I'm not sure the definitive lc chocolate chip cookie exists yet. I know Kevin's thought about it, but as far as I know, he has yet to put together a recipe.

I've given it a great deal of thought as well. The biggest barrier is that choc. chip cookies reallly showcase the taste of the flour sub. Carbquik/carbalose, by themselves, have too strong of a taste for this type of cookie.

I would not call this definitive Scott, but it was a dang good cookie.
I started out going for a toll house but my subconscious kept drifting to neiman marcus.
As a result I think I ended up with somewhere in between the two of those.
Nice crusty crunchy edges with a chewy middle but not raw and gooey.

Hey Kevin, your recipes look so good, how about posting them in the recipe forums? That way people looking for recipes will find them much more easily.

Kevin, I know how to find your recipes.
I am just thinking of the many members and visitors who go to our recipe forums to look for recipes and will miss out on those of yours that you have not yet posted there.
