Default Morning Sickness

Last night and this morning had my first touch of it. This is my 2nd pregnancy. I didn't have any with my 1st. Ugggh... Felt awful. Wouldn't ya know it, this am, the first time in God know how long, my husband decided to get up early and make breakfast for me. Was so incredibly sweet of him, BUT I couldn't stand the smell of the eggs, let alone EAT them!!!

I feel for those of you who have suffered relentlessly from morning sickness. I am hoping this bout was my first and last.

Hi Mithlondwe. I totally empathize. I had no morning sickness the first time around and actually thought I wouldn't this time, then it hit me about 3 wks ago. It's a little better this week so I'm hoping by the time I'm into the second trimester that it'll be gone. It absolutely sucks!

Hi everyone. I'm pregnant too, and have had more morning sickness ALL DAY than any nausea I ever had with my first two.
I'm due around July 1. I hope your pregnancies go great.

Morning sickness is a real bummer. I had it 24 hours a day for the first 5 months, and I vomited every morning the entire 9 months all 3 pregnancies. I stopped fighting it. It got to the point where I'd just look at the toilet when I first got up every morning, get it over with, and then I was better the rest of the day. It was only dry heaves and some gastric juice, which is much better than vomiting food.

As hard as it may seem to eat protein, try to eat some. White meat chicken may work. Scrambled eggs with cheese saved me many times. The protein will help stabilize your blood sugars/insulin levels which are beginning to be thought to influence morning sickness. Don't worry about your carbs until it lessens. I lived on every variety of chicken soup in the store for the first 5 months.

If it gets really bad and leading to dehydration, ask your OB for some Rx medication or ask if you can take 1/2 Unisom tablet. I took it and it works GREAT. But ask first. Mine said it was fine.

Good luck...I know how bad it is!!

I've discovered that chewing Orbit sweetmint gum really helps me. I'm not much of a gum chewer, but man, it sure makes a difference!

Default Re: Nausea

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try all of them.

Good news though. I haven't had any nausea since Friday afternoon when I started taking Prenatal vitamins the OB doctor's office gave to me Friday. So, I hope to be about over with it. However, I will try your suggestions just because I still want to keep the nausea away no matter what.

Have a great day!!!!

Correction: In my earlier post, I said my due date was July 1st. But, Friday, they said no it was July 3.
