Default Am I Eating Right?

It was suggested I posted my diet to get some help because I am stuck. Really stuck. No weight loss in 3 weeks.

Here is yesterday's intake:

Breakfast: Mock danish
Snack: 1 babybel cheese, Carb crunch bar (2 carbs)
Lunch: Crab & Prawn butterlettuce, aspargus & hard boil egg salad with goddess dressing, 3 club sodas (I ate a restaurant for a birthday lunch)
Coffe with 2 half & half
Snack: Avocado with 2 tbsp. sour cream
Dinner: Pork chop pan fried with 1 cup mushrooms and 1 tbsp. cream cheese
Sugar free hedgehog chocolate

98 oz. water

Hi.

Not bad, but I'd be eating *zero* chocolate bars. That's basically maintenance food. If you need a chocolate fix, prepare your own treats from cocoa powder. Don't fall for the fallacy that sugar alcohols aren't absorbed, as it implies on the labelling.

In general, I'd try to get off the sweet type of rich stuff (mock danish, chocolate) and try to make a transition to the savory. Maybe think eggs, sausage or leftover meats for breakfast.

Good luck.

i second what kristine said... ditch the chocolate and the mock danishes for now. when you're doing induction, you want it to be as "clean" as possible... "clean" meaning no replacement foods like the bars and as little to no artificially sweetened foods as you can stand (personally, if i have a sweet craving i head for the diet dr. pepper, but that's it).

other than that, you look ok to me.

Hi Goatkins,

I can only make a rough estimate, but that sounds like about a 2100 calorie day. Are you using MyPlan or Fitday to track your intake?
I well understand the desire to not have to count or restrict the calories as well as the carbs, but some people (and I'm certainly one of them) find the losing goes very slowly unless they do.

There's many benefits to low carbing however, and one of them is that I can keep the calories in the 1300 - 1600 range and not feel hungry at all, something that never happened on lowfat plans!

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments. I will give up the chocolate and mock danish (even though that is the first one I have had) but it didn't really thrill me enough to do it again. I have been tracking my food on another free website but it isn't carb friendly, and I just recently purchased a the atkins carb counter for my palm pilot but it doesn't tell you calorie intake or percentages of the fat/carbs/protein intake either. I am going to have to find another way to log my calories on my palm pilot. Anyone know of a good program?

a lot of people here use fitday, and when i can remember to put my food in, i use the "M.Y.P.L.A.N" thingy here. i tracked my foods for a while and got an idea of my percentages for protein/fat/carbs. only thing is that i didn't like that it got hard to find some of the foods i eat on a normal basis, and the software seemed to assume certain things about certain foods.
