Default when to stop induction?

i've been on induction (first time doing atkins) for 3 weeks now, starting the 4th.

<20g carbs per day.

I went from 118 to 110 right now and have 5 left to lose.
My weight is still moving a little bit, a pound down, a pound up, 2 pounds down etc..

i'm just wondering when we are supposed to reintroduce the 5 more carbs per week until we gain weight again? that is to say the next step.

Are we supposed to wait until we stall on induction?

how long have you guys stayed on induction and why?

thanks for your experiences / tips.

Plus, I have another question.

I lost 8 pounds with atkins yes, but before that, I had already been to 118 and lost 8 pounds too, on a high protein low fat low carb low calories diet.

As a result, I was 110 like right now, but I don't know, I looked less "chubby" than now (Im small). I still have fat on my hips.

So, it seems that for the same weight, with atkins I may have lost less fat and maybe more muscles? I'm exercising enough to prevent muscle loss though, so that's weird.

Needless to say how easier and healthier is atkins to follow...

but I would like to understand ...

I stick very closely to induction even now after 3 years. I hit my target weight, or rather it hit me 2 years ago. The weight just suddenly stopped coming off at 126lbs - which was fine with me!

I've added nuts and will eat more if/when I go out/celebrations etc - but I only ever really have low carb things.

But my daily eating routine is pretty much as it was in the beginning.

I guess I've never felt the need to add anymore carbs or maybe I've always been a little fearful of what might happen if I did??? either way, I'm happy and not planning to change

Since you don't have much to lose, I'd say it was time to start OWL. Add a few more carbs (& variety) and as long as you continue to lose, keep adding more.

After 3 1/2 yrs on Atkins, I stick to about 30-50 net carbs. This allows plenty of variety, and seems to work for maintenance.

Actually, I probably owe it to myself to have an occasional day of high carbs (50-80) but not the sugar/starch variety.

The point of OWL is to introduce variety into your menu, so you can stick with the plan over the long term. For some people, very low carbs can get boring, and boredom is the death of a diet.

P. S. Somehow I doubt that you are "chubby." A little curve, a little softness...seems like an attractive thing on a woman.

lol no, beleive me,
even if I agree that it's not awful, and that curves on women are really beautiful (I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT, I don't wanna be too thin or whatever), I still think I have excess "not beautiful" fat on my hips.

I hate that.
I 've had that since i'm young and that's it, I wanna get rid of it.

My belly is flat, my arms look nice (with the weight lifting), I like my legs, but damn! my hips they don't wanna give all that fat.

Have you ever tried Slim in 6? It is a life style change as well, but the exercise tape really does work your whole body. I can think of a few exercises that Debbie Siebers does that absolutely would target your hips.

PS... I only see the fat when you grab it... so if you don't grab it you should do okay. )

nooooo
beleive me, i'm not crazy

and even if won't say it's terrible or hawful or whatever, I wanna become a fitness trainer and model, and
I personally haven't seen any fitness model with that much fat on their hips

i'm kinda confused. I know atkins is great for weight loss. I know it's great for health.

Just wondering if it's good for people that wanna sculpt their body. And eliminate the small amount of excess fat that's left.

I'm thinking about customizing my atkins diet maybe... increase my protein intake, and reduce fat

like 50% protein
50% fat

(and a few carbs from veggies that's it)

what do you guys think?

You're gorgeous.

Please keep in mind that "fitness models"--people who do photo shoots for magazines, videos, etc.--don't look like that ALL THE TIME. They usually follow strenuous (and extreme) diet routines with specialized nutrients to get their body fat unnaturally low. It's not healthy.

Have you ever seen movie celebrities in the candid shots the paparazzi take? They look like "regular" people, too.

For a healthy, sculpted look, weight training with heavier weights--and good instruction from a trainer--can help, along with a high-protein diet, usually lower in fat. But you can't lose fat in spots. So if your body wants to store a little extra in your hips, you'll lose it there last, if at all.

I encourage you to enjoy the lovely body you have. But if you want to get into fitness modeling, you'll have to seek out advice from experts in that world.

I already did actually.
I've had a coach that set up a diet for me, and workouts.

his diet was a high protein low carb (around 40g <i'd say) and low fat
I lost the same as with atkins.

Then I did a strictest diet: 1100 calories a day :

breakfast : 300g of cottage cheese
5g or olive oil

morning snack : 100g of chicken

lunch : 100g of chicken + tomatoes + 30g of fresh cheese

afternoon snack : 100g of chicken

dinner : 100g of tuna with oil + a cup of veggies

(+the days I was working out : 1 whey protein shake right after training)

with this diet, I went to my lowest wieght and best (for now) outlook : 107 pounds (in about less than 1 month). But I was a bit hungry all the time.

At this time, I had no idea about high fat nutrition.

Sometimes, I'm thinking about doing this diet (fitness people diets actually) again, until reaching my ideal wieght goal, and then go back to atkins to maintain and for my whole life actually.

But then, I fear now that not eating enough fat may be dangerous when you already don't eat carbs !
so I don't know, I am REALLY confused right now.
Too much information, too many different points of views.. damn, don't know what to do anymore

ps) I know fitness models also use steroids...

don't worry I know the limit where I can compare myself to them:-)
But I also know that what I want is totally possible.

Just have to find the right diet and workout.
but that's not easyyyyy....

Actually, Atkins should reduce fat without losing much muscle, if done right. Even when most people are not losing pounds, if they measure, they are losing inches.

I'm with the others--you have a lovely hip line on the side where you are NOT grabbing and distorting it! That is a perfect hourglass figure!

LOL I'm sorry, but the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture was when my daughter weighed 90 pounds, she thought her tummy was fat because when she hunched way over she could "pinch an inch" of SKIN! It was just 'mental conditioning' from all she read in fashion magazines.

The Slim in 6 is supposed to be very good for working that part of your body. I would give it a try.

Further, why can't we be happy with our body? I hate that I have very narrow hips and even at 193 pounds, I have nothing to grab on the sides. When I weighed 145 pounds, when I wore a knit dress that hugged my figure, I would take shoulder pads and put them on my hips under my panty hose to give me a curve. Shame we can't trade body parts!

Sunny!

I've been browsing in a book by Ann Gittleman called Fat Flush. It's a fairly high-protein, low-fat plan that incorporates "liver flushing" elements like cranberry juice, flaxseed oil, psyllium. It includes fruits. As long as you're looking for a fat-reducing routine, you might want to research it.

P. S. to Sunny--posting simultaneously! I'm a pear--very curvy and hippy. I work my shoulders and arms hard to get a wider upper body, but there's nothing I can do to make my pelvis narrower or my ribcage bigger. I'm just happy to be at a healthy weight, with great muscle conditioning all over.
