Default Okay, Time for RE-Induction

Okay, I feel like I am now FULLY recuperated from my hospital stay/illness. I spent the past 1 1/2 weeks feeling so-o-o-o-o-o nauseous, I decided I would just bide my time until it passed and then restart induction. I felt constantly ill, so, while I did NOT go carb crazy, I did allow myself to eat whatever I felt like eating (therefore feeling like I could keep it down). That translated to eating such things as toast, crackers, etc.

Anyway, that nauseous feeling seems to be finally gone, so it's time to begin anew.

I have some leftovers that are slightly carby that I will finish today, so tomorrow morning will be a brand new day AND a brand new start into induction for me! I plan to spend part of today prepping induction friendly foods for my new beginning.

By the way, I have decided NOT to weigh myself until I have been back on induction for one week. My weight before my illness was at 154, and dropped to 148, hiked back UP to 154, then up to 160 when I was discharged from the hospital and finally off all those glucose-laden IV fluids, and the last couple of times I weighed, I was at 155 and 160 respectively. I'm hoping that much of that was water weight.......

Wish me luck! It's good to be back and feeling somewhat normal again!

Thanks! And yes I did!

Nothing grew in the cultures, so as far as my doctor can tell, it was some sort of virus. Someone else on here mentioned the possibility of it being the Norwalk Virus. I researched it via Google and it sure sounds like it could have been!

Whatever it was, I am SO grateful that it has moved on!

good luck! i'm sure that 1) most of that was water weight from all the fluids they pump into you and that 2) it'll be gone in a week. i know you'll do great.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. I'll bet the water weight will disappear as fast as it came on.

A friend of mine is recovering from Norwalk - TRULY nasty!!!!!!!

Take care and welcome back, Julie

Whew. What a lousy break. Just focus on regaining your strength.

I'm betting that extra glucose bloat is gonna drop right off.

Recently, I took a little holiday that included wedding cake (for starters). I came home at the high end of my Weight Creep limit, and started induction immediately. Guess what? I dropped off 7 lbs. in a week! That was astounding! I'm thinking maybe that little carb reversal broke a long plateau. Hope it works the same for you. My method was obviously more fun than yours, but look on the bright side.

Best wishes.
