Default My introduction

I'm a moderately overweight man in my early 30's who wants to change his eating habits and lose 30 lbs. I came in contact with the low carb lifestyle by watching a BBC documentary on Atkins and on the next day I purchased the book.

I've more or less maintained my current weight of 78 kg / 172 lbs on my 173 cm / 5'8" frame for as long as I can remember. I'm in full health and a recent blood test showed normal values all around.

Right now my habits include not eating breakfast, having lunch at some restaurant and junk food for dinner. I'm not happy with any of this and I'm looking forward to change them all. The low carb lifestyle will be an expensive one but compared to my current "food" budget I'm gonna save money.

I have no problem with cooking if I have all the neccesary ingredients (which I seldom do). Because of this I'm going to make weekly menus so I can make sure I have everything I need at home. I also have to include breakfast in my morning routine.

I'm really looking forward to getting started!

Hello,

I'm doing Atkins. (did it twice last year - started again Feb 22nd 2006). It gets easier as you educate yourself and before you know it ...you won't have to think hard about what to get at the store, what to eat, etc.

I have noticed that this time around it's harder to lose. But I have dropped about 8 pounds so far. AND I'm losing inches!

I really glad to have come across this forum also. There's alot I've learned from reading these posts. Number one thing I learned was to have patience and not get discouraged if I slip up.
Good luck!
