Smile Hi from Australia

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am 41 years old and a newcomer to low carbing. Started two weeks ago, don't know how much weight I lost in the first week (scales broken) but have lost 4 kilos this week. I can't tell you how amazed I was when the doctor weighed me today!!!! I am just so thrilled, finally something that works. I've had a weight problem for 13 years since the birth of my second child, I was diagnosed hypothyroid and four years ago PCOS. have tried ever since to lose weight on low fat diets, which may work for some people but certainly did'nt for me. Well 4 kilos down 50 to go :(
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you wonderful people, bye for now. Kaye

Sounds like you're off to the right start. Congratulations on your first loss!

Hello Kaye, the first 2 addressess are Aussie the first one is for lo-carb the second one is an Aussie weight loss group that is supportive. The aussie lo carb site has a link for FAQ (frequently asked questions) you will find it in message 4149 posted by "Shirley".

Default Hi Karni

I noticed by your name and stats you have that you are following a plan suggested by your physician.

Does your physician approve of the Low Carb/Protein diet?

Very seldom will a doctor approve of it, I find.

I am concerned as my doctor says NO to it. But, I am wondering if he is just one of the doctors who has not taken the time to study the material concerning the Low Carbing?

Would love to hear what your doctor had to say.

Please contact me by e-mail........as I might not be able to find this thread again? Not use to this yet.

Hello JoAnne, I am unable to e-mail you so I hope that you read this. My GP totally supports lo-carb way of life. Is very supportive and is in fact a devotee himself. My plan is similar to protein power but I guess it is a matter of choosing which plan you think you could make work. By the way we share the same birthday except I was born in 63.
Regards Karni

Default Hi Karni

I am only familar some with the Atkins diet. Don't know much about the Protein Power?

Did your doctor just tell you to go on any low carb or did he specify which one he liked? Did he also tell you he wants to keep track of your health with the blood work?

I read the other day on one of the thread that drinking water is so so very important while doing this diet........not only for the weight loss, but mainly for the health. If your stick is turning dark purple, I was told that is not good and it means that you are not drinking enough water. Keeping in mind, I don't know personally, but it makes sense to me. So, I plan on drinking the water too, when I begin this WOE!

Yes, I noticed we had the same birthdates! We will have to celabrate !

Talk to you soon?
