Default Birthday Cake!

My birthday is coming soon and I am a firm believer of having cake on your birthday's. Anyways, what do you guys suggest I do for birthday cake. I saw some brownie mixes at the store that are lo carb, and I think that I saw some lo carb pancake mix, what do you think?

I don't know about low carb cakes. I had one and did not eat any, hope it isn't bad luck I just had mine yesterday! We went out for seafood. I think all the lobster and crabs made me slow down ketosis. Anyhow good luck with the cake and post a recipe if you find one or make something up.

I actually encountered this back in 2000. I remember posting to the email list and asking what about cake on your bday. I had thought long enough and decided to have it. My dh took out to Red Lobster (strange to see that in this thread too!). So I had lobster, and assorted other seafood. At the end of the meal, I was to order my bday "treat." I was full. So it was easy as heck to pay, stand up and leave with no regrets.
Perhaps a better birthday present would be to buy yourself something nice? Anyway you choose, Happy Birthday!

TGIF's sells the Atkins Cheesecake.... you could either get a couple of slices to go home with or you could have a birthday dinner there since they have a lot of LC choices. You should also order the atkins cheesecake off their website but I heard it was expensive. I can tell you that all of the things that I've made, this was the best. It was a real treat...have plenty of whipped cream on it!

I would buy some Carbquick if you have time. There are all kinds of recipes out there using the mix. Also, why not go to a bookstore and look through some nice LC cookbooks. You might find something that interests you as well.

I recommend a cake made from lean ground beef. Kidding. My wife makes a delicious very low carb cake-like desert which is very similar to chocolate cake with a hot thick chocolate syrup like center (I call it Chocolate Lava Cake). I think it has only 3 carbs per serving and is made from egg whites, unsweetened chocolate, Splenda, Atkins bake mix and ? Send me a PM, if you are interested and I will have my wife send you the recipe.

You can also get Ruby Tuesday to make a low carb cheesecake for you. They may even decorate it for your birthday (check that)
