I'm still feeling great doing Neandrathin since about the 24th of June, BUT after losing a good amount of weight quickly, I went back up from 218 to 224. I'm thinking its from too much fruit. We have an abundance of cherries, blueberries, etc....in the local stores right now being summer and I've been enjoying fruit every day. I'm going to cut it out.

What's been your exp with losing weight w/Neandrathin? ditto for fruit? Terry

Hi Terry, same deal here. In June, I start hitting the fruit, and lots of it. I can pretty much expect to stall completely during the summer, until the end of August when I stop eating fruit until the next June. Summer is a fun time, for this reason. My blood sugar zips around, I get my cravings, makes me feel human.

If you're not content to pork up a bit when eating fruit, I'd suggest limiting fruit by day or by week. I don't really recommend that you do it like I do (by year).

Fruit is wonderful, and when in season and full of flavor, so hard to avoid. But the incentive for not eating too much fruit is you know it will only taste the best while in season. Eating a lot of berries now I don't think is so bad, except that it inhibits weight loss. Eating cherries or blueberries in December is just not desireable. Most of the fruit I see in the grocery looks icky and is tasteless. Take strawberries or apples, it is difficult to buy anything worthwhile until the right time of year. Even strawberries transported from California or S. America that are in season there taste like moist cardboard by the time they reach me.

But nothing beats finding a farmer's market with fresh strawberries or peaches. Right now, wild raspberries are available on my property. For the last week and a half, I've been able to pick a pint every few days.

I missed this year's harvest of Mount Rainier Cherries. I will not miss next year's.
