Angry a lesson learned!

I have been eating clean for a month!/no alcohol...working out...etc...lost 11 lbs ..and feel great until yesterday, I made a cake for my husband's birthday and thought what the heck! I had a small pce of chocolate marble cake and 8oz of red wine..AND TODAY, my cravings have been full force! I am craving more cake, peanut butter, chocolate, you name it. I tried to head them off just now with some steak and cauliflower for lunch!! I learned a big ol' lesson I guess you could say!

I feel tired today and bloated also...I guess I will try and drink lots of water to flush all this crap out of my system. Thank god, I am back to my workout routine tomorrow (today is my rest day) and back to low carbing..Thanks for hearing me vent I am heading out for a long walk now..
Jess

Jess:
Hello, The first thing I notice when I read a post, (this decides if I want to read the post or not) is: I look at goals and progress.
A.) You have attained your goals, or are close
b.) your progress is continuous
c.) your time spent doing this way of life, hold months well spent
d.) Then I scroll over to a pic if there is one and, You look awesome

I know it is not a great feeling to do something we wouldn't normally do, but I believe that is what we learn from. You tasted the cake and sipped the wine and you realize how important your lifestyle is now, so you just keep going forward. Look at yesterday as a reminder. Remember that you are an inspiration to us because you prove this can work.
Have a great day!

Jess & to new people:
Hello!
In response to my first message to you, it has been brought to the attention by viewers I was being somewhat judgmental to people who don't have as much experience low carbing as you or others who are senior members. To be honest and no disrespect to people who do have less experience, but for me I do look at peoples progress and goals, next I look at the sincerity of their post. I like to respond to people who share my own sincerity and I want to learn from people who have more experience than I. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. I do however love to post to new people and be motivational to them b/c I'm new. Anywho! As mentioned earlier, you are doing awesome and it shows, so don’t be down on yourself.

Jks
Ps. How far do you walk?

How do you tell sincerity from their goals and progress? I have been on this WOE for 2 years now and my wieghtloss is not great. I rarely eat the wrong things or too much. I exercise regularly. I do have medical problems that cause me to not loose much, but that does not cause me to be less sincere about this WOL. If anything, I am more sincere because for me it is the difference between living and dying.

Dear JudyR
I agree with you. We are all here trying our best. No one is perfect. At least we are here and willing to discuss our triumphs and tribulations. That's life!

When we share, whether good news or bad, we never know who we may help by doing so. At the very least, just writing my help ouselves!

I'm with you. Each person has their own path. We are not here to judge one another - just to help.

Let's hope that you never deviate from the program, and come to this forum for encouragement, let me tell you there a lot of people who will be more than happy to remind you of your judgemental posting . You are new, gung ho (for Christ sake you have only posted 23 times) which is probably a great indicator that you haven't been around long enough to JUDGE anyone's progress or "insincerity" about this WOE . The fact that you judge others as "insincere" because they slipped from this WOE on an occasion tells me you are probably young, in age or experience.

Instead of dismissing those you have deamed "insincere", how about lending your words of encouragement to those people. Those who are, as you put it, "sincere" really don't need words of encourgement, from a "newbie" who has only lost 2 pounds (according to your stats). If your stats are correct, I could very well judge you....2 pounds, you've loss 2 pounds-that can be done in as little as a week. Someone could very well look at your stats and say you are "insincere" and choose not to read your posting, "what could she possibly have to say of credence that can help me on this weightloss journey, she's only loss 2 pounds".

Losing weight is a very tough thing, probably the toughest thing that many of us will ever do in our lives. Rarely has anyone lost a substantial amount of weight without stumbling along the way. Apparently at some point in your life you became "insincere" about eating healthy or you wouldn't be on this forum trying to lose 13 pounds .

Jumping off the soapbox now !

Hi Judy:
In response to your post to me,
I said, I read their post and read the sincerity in their post. How can I tell if they are sincere? Well, for one they are being nice, honest, and they aren’t ridiculing others. Look, I'm not saying your insincere, I don't even know you...I'm sure you are very committed to your nutrition and I’m sure your very sincere. I think this whole message was taken out of context.
Jess was peeved she ate Choc cake; I merely made a list for her to view so she could see her accomplishments, and that by listing those accomplishments of hers, she could see why people (like myself)respond to that (her stats) information given.
I also, stated why I responded to her initial post. As I drank my am coffee I scrolled the new post and came upon hers. Her Goals, progress are great, (that is just what sparked my interest) so I looked at her post, Wow! I said Look how honest she is, and she felt bad about eating choc cake. I thought, Ummm
I'll respond, b/c you know what I've been there too.
Then, later I read a post that stated I was maybe being perceived as, judgmental. Well, I said to myself...My God...I'm not being judgmental, I don't want her to think I'm being judgmental, so I posted Jess again to tell her what I meant. As for desiding if i want to read a post or not is nothing strange or bad, i mean dont we all do this. I clicked on the web page this am, read the title, looked at her stats, ( I said to myself, what could a senoir member have experienced that was a lessen learned?) I chose to read on...
As for you and your weight loss issues, look where you have come from: You were 230 now you are 193. Do you know how hard that is to do, but you are doing it!
Someone told me once that you don't put weight on overnight, so why exspect it to fall off over night. It simply takes time.
I'm not going to post anymore, because its just not working out.
Good luck with your efforts and sorry for somehow affending you.
Jks

In our own ways we all pick and choose which posts to read and which to reply to,Don't We?
JKS was the only one admitting it is all.

My problem with JK's post (and the reason why I suggested it it seemed judgemental) was that it came across in such a way that suggested MOST people's messages weren't worthy of her response but after careful consideration she chose to do us all a service by replying to this thread. It just seemed a bit pompous.

Jess, you're doing great getting back into the swing of things! It sounds like you're doing everything you're supposed to do to keep from giving in to the cravings! Like you, anything more than a small taste (like more than a forkful) is enough to send my into cravings for at least two days! It's frustrating, but it's life.

It looks like your original post got hijacked, sorry about that.

Again, great job getting back on and staying on track!
