Talking Hmmmm!

Well, as so many of you that I read today, I am new to the site. I can't help but wonder though, why a site that talks low carbs promotes the idiots guide to losing weight which says the low carbs is bunk and you need to rotate your foods. It made me laugh.

Actually, I think I lied on the member info because I have read the Atkins books even though I haven't followed his plan very much. I have lost about 18 pounds in the past six months or so but I just started looking at the low carbs thing again in November 04. Right now I seem to be plateaued.

I need to lose another 33.5 pounds. My body fat was 33.5 this morning and that is way too high. Also, last month, my blood pressure decided to climb above the limit lines and if I don't get my blood pressure in control the Doctor wants to put me on medicine. I hate pills. The bottom line is: I need to lose some weight.

Speaking of that idiots guide to losing weight. Has anyone tried it? Does it work? Or is it just another plan that sounds plausible.

You've got a good start with the 18 lbs lost. I don't know what plan will work for you for the rest of your loss. But the Forum is a good place to see how the lc WOL works. You can try it and see how it works for you.

Basically I've tried just about everything else and I feel better with lc. It is restrictive (in my relatively new to it mind) but it is manageable and works.

It does for most people help with blood pressure and blood chemistry.

Check it out. Most likely you'll like the results.

I am not sure what book you mean, but the first book I purchased was Low Carb Diets for dummies and I love it. I read it all the time and it helped me lose 43 lbs! Everything in the book is very interesting and makes perfect sense. The bottom line is to use whatever works for you and what your comfy with. Good Luck

Oh I see. I just thought it was strange to have that ad on the site and it gave me a smile.

Yes I think that low carb living does work. It's just not as quick a weight loss as I thought. But, I know I cheat on the carbs so i only have to look to myself. Still, yes I am pleased that I have lost the 18 pounds. It's the other 32 I need to concentrate on.
